Erica Cohn (Founder) Bass & Vocal Percussion
Cohn sings a soulful bass and is a skilled vocal percussionist. She sang bass with the Skidmore College Sonneteers for four years and produced the group's second album. After college she hit the New Jersey coffeehouse circuit as a singer/guitarist. But not too long after that, Cohn set out to gather voices for her ideal sound and in 1991, Harmonytryx was born. More recently, Cohn has been judging a cappella competitions and coaching pro and semi-pro groups. Give her a call if your group needs help!

Angela Marcone Lead & Vocal Percussion
Marcone sang country tunes in a little coffee club in the deep south (you’d never guess it from her accent) at the start of her career. Since then, she’s sung the circuit in country, pop, rock and funk bands—and even had her "15 minutes of fame" fronting a 20-piece orchestra. A music graduate of William Paterson University, Marcone fronts the band Angelo and Fantasy and is the music teacher at Valley View Middle School in Watchung, NJ. Marcone brings wit, drama, and her amazing vocal trumpet skills to complete this fabulous female ensemble.

Kristie Damell Baritone
Damell, the newest addition to Harmonytryx, is also no stranger to the stage. Although she has a BS in health education, she realized her true calling as a singer, belting out the hits at theme parks, resorts and cruise ships around the world. After 6 years of living out of suitcases, Damell settled down in NYC where she is currently working towards her Masters degree at Columbia University and is thrilled to be returning to her a cappella roots. Beyond her signature belt, Damell has contributed funky musical arrangements and occasional rapping skills to the group.

Rebecca Green Mezzo Soprano/Lead
Green's a cappella roots run deep. As the musical director and choreographer of Brandeis University’s Up the Octave, she recorded their second award-winning CD, Utopia, back in 2002. Since then, she has taught tiny tots to dance and sing at preschools from Chicago to New York City. Originally from a musical family in the Midwest (think von Trapp), Green sings in a sweet, tuneful mezzo, and brings to the group her unique vocal percussion skills. In her spare time, she is studying to be a pediatrician in NYC.

Mary Malyska Bass
Malyska began singing a cappella in high school when she and three friends decided to cut choir and "branch out." Her singing career continued through college, where she sang and directed the Georgetown University Gracenotes. Malyska has a Masters of Arts in Teaching, and works as a high school English teacher in Paterson. Malyska sings the kind of low bass you have to hear to believe, and brings an amazing resonance and depth of sound to Harmonytryx.

Andrea Catangay Soprano
Catangay sings the really high stuff and is the co-founder of Deuce Theatre, an exciting new experimental theatre company in Monmouth County. While she lights up the stage as an actress, Catangay's clear and haunting voice brings songs like Enigma's "Snow on the Sahara" to exquisite life. Catangay had her first taste of all-female a cappella in high school, but made her move toward the stage by earning a Bachelors of Music in Musical Theatre from the University of Miami. Now, she's thrilled to be singing "with the girls" again!
